Kittitas County reports three additional COVID-19-associated deaths

Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) has announced the deaths of three more long-term care facility residents. It was not specified which care facilities they were residents of. To date, long-term care facility residents make up all four deaths associated with COVID-19 in the county.

KCPHD said the majority of their efforts are currently directed at COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities, three of which are currently experiencing outbreaks.

A fourth, Prestige Hearthstone, also had a staff member test positively. The county’s Incident Management Team will be conducting mass testing at Prestige Hearthstone this week. It will also be conducting a retesting of the patients and residents of Prestige Post-Acute and Rehab, the long-term care facility facing the largest outbreak.

KCPHD encourages the community to support each other in this time and recommends mental health resources like Washington Listens to those affected by the pandemic. Washington Listens can be reached at +1 (833) 681-0211. Callers will be connected with a support specialist.
