Meadows Place employee tests positive for COVID-19

On July 6, Kittitas County learned a staff member of Meadows Place Assisted Living Community was confirmed to have COVID-19. The employee is now in isolation and the county’s Incident Management Team (IMT) is working to quarantine all contacts. 

All residents and staff of Meadows Place are being tested by the IMT, and every resident, staff and family member associated with the long-term care facility has been contacted. 

This is the first positive case in the county associated with a long-term care facility. The residents of these facilities are considered at-risk for COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Kittitas County Public Health Department said because of this, the IMT had prepared for this scenario and is taking action to prevent further spread in the facility. 

As of publication, Kittitas County has 35 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, with 316 tests pending results. Of the county’s total 167 confirmed cases, 132 are considered recovered. The county reports zero deaths related to COVID-19. All data is pulled from the Kittitas County Community Impact Dashboard.
