Kittitas County enters phase three

As of June 23, Kittitas County has been approved by the state to enter phase three of Gov. Inslee’s phased reopening plan.

Phase three lifts new restrictions, outlined in a county public health department press release, such as allowing social gatherings and outdoor recreation to now include up to 50 people. Recreation facilities such as movie theaters and public pools can now open and operate at less than 50% capacity. Nonessential travel also may take place under phase three.

“The Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) and IMT want to remind Kittitas County residents to proceed with caution,” the press release reads. “We are all excited about being able to resume activities, and we want to continue to have access to these activities safely. While our incidence of disease remains low, we are very close to jurisdictions with very high rates of illness and hospitalization.”

The release states that now is more important than ever to maintain safety by social distancing and wearing a cloth mask.
