Central has announced Katherine Frank as the newly appointed Provost for Academic and Student Life.

The news comes by way of a press release sent from Central’s Academic Affairs office.

She will be leaving her role as the College of Arts and Sciences at Northern Kentucky University, the release says. There she oversees the largest college within NKU, which includes ten academic departments, five centers, and a School of Arts, according to a press release from Central.

“Dr. Frank has demonstrated success in smart management of people, programs, and budgets,” said President James Gaudino in the press release.

The university will implement the decentralized approach to decision-making in a year, according to Gaudino in the release. It says that she will need to mentor academic leaders over the next year to help make changes.

According to the press release, Frank said she was very happy to join Central and start her job as Provost and VP for Academic and Student Life.

She earned her B.A. in English from Bates College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from the University of Washington.

“CWU is a community made up of dedicated faculty and staff who put students first and are focused on student success during college and beyond,” Frank said in the press release.

She will begin her new position on July 1.
