OPINION: What’s the fuss about? Central’s dining is good
March 3, 2016
Central has a variety of healthy food choices that you can choose from, whether you’re in a hurry and just need a quick bite to eat or are looking for a meal.
Despite many students’ complaints, I have always enjoyed eating in the SURC and have never had a bad meal.
Both the marketplace and Cat Tracks store are committed to serving healthy choices to accommodate all the students.
Cat Tracks has lots of pre-packaged food—like salads, sandwiches and fresh fruit—that are healthy and yummy.
Some students think that there aren’t enough healthy choices because there are a lot of burgers, fried chicken and pizza. If you look closely though, there are a lot of healthy options the SURC offers, you just have to know where to look and what to ask for.
There are seven places to choose from in the marketplace and all of them offer healthy options.
One example is the The Lion’s Broiler. They offer a variety healthy choices, such as salmon, chicken and veggies.
Wrap & Roll is another great example of healthy food in the SURC. They have great sandwiches that come with fresh veggies and protein-rich deli meats.
When you’re in a hurry, it can be hard to choose a healthy item—which is why people usually grab fried food or a cheeseburger—but if you take your time, there are lots of great options.
Don’t worry the next time you’re in a hurry or are looking for something healthy to eat, the marketplace and the Cat Tracks store have great options to choose from.
