Enjoying Jazz in the Valley this weekend doesn’t have to cost you $40 for a wrist band plus food and drinks. You could just pay for Friday or Saturday events for as low as $15 or Sunday’s event for just $10 according to Larry Sharp, of Kittitas Visitor’s Center.

“We sell somewhere around 3,000 tickets for this weekend…a lot of people roaming around the streets,” Sharpe said.

“Sixteen years we have never had a fight…we patrol it pretty well and we hire police officers just to keep an eye on things,” Sharpe said.

So this will be a family friendly event.

“All ages are welcome at any venue,” Sharpe said.

Children less than ten years old get in free according to their webpage www.jazzinthevalley.com.

Other ways to save this weekend, Cornerstone Pie will be offering a special menu. This includes the “Maple Bacon Bar, it’s just a pizza crust with hand crushed bacon cooked then top it with maple and powdered sugar” Chef Casey, Head Chef at Cornerstone Pie said.

“We will be doing beer specials…and have some give away stuff going on too,” Mark Holloway, owner of Cornerstone said.

“We have two bands playing. Friday night we will have Tommy Hogan playing blues from Portland. Then Saturday night we have Eddie Manzanares and he does Latin salsa type music,” Holloway said. Both bands will be playing on Cornerstone’s new mini amphitheater in their beer garden that will be opening Friday.

Club 301 is also offering deals without door tags on Friday and Saturday.

“We have karaoke at 9 p.m. and a DJ,” said Kelly Kneer from Club 301.
