Hello fine humans of CWU,

What a week it’s been! I hope you’re all hanging onto your marbles as we navigate these storms together. The pages this week are filled with ups and downs, attempts to hold the university accountable in the Cats Against Assault story (continued on pg. 10) as well as celebrations of the university’s generosity in sending student media editors to a convention in Washington D.C. (see pg. 5). We covered a Congressional Debate (see pg. 6-7) and a panel highlighting the devastating war in Ukraine and its impact on civilians (see pg. 4).

I have never been more proud of my staff, my advisor Jennifer Green and all of our collective accomplishments. We write these stories for our readers, word by word, leading with our hearts and striving to tell the truth as clearly as we see it. We feel pain and joy along with our sources, we are human no matter how hard we strive for objectivity. We give everything to our paper each week in the hopes of fostering connection. Please reach out to [email protected] and tell us what you think of our work, good or bad, we are here to listen.

With care,

Katherine Camarata
