Fashion and Style is Timeless

Style is timeless. No matter what, it always comes back around and is used by another generation as a staple and way to express.

Take footwear like Nike blazers, arguably one of the most popular staples in the 1970s and they have made their return in 2022.

They can be expressed in different ways, being a sleek comfy sneaker to rock day to day. Style isn’t just what you wear or how you wear it—it’s a type of art and self-expression.

According to Anna Dello Russo, Japanese Vogue editorI believe fashion is a form of expression I don’t want to be cool; I want to be fashionable.”

Russo also said, “Fashion is art and allows for creativity whereby one is able to have an individual identity that makes one special.”

There are people who are paying big bucks for their streetwear and then there are others who are now taking advantage of thrift shops or consignment stores and finding worthy items, being able to create an outfit on a budget.

Like the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Visualizing and coming up with a look that someone deemed to be worth tossing, you found worth in and deemed valuable.

I think that’s the beauty of style and fashion, to be able to create loud outfits that scream against the fashion do’s or don’ts. For example, I’ve always grown up hearing that you can’t mix black and brown.

Yet that has always been one of my favorite combos. I still to this day love to wear the color combo, no matter what opinions I may hear from the fashion police.

The conflict with that was that color combos being too close together would not complement each other well. I beg to differ.

Fashion is a statement piece that coincides with your style but is created through adversity through each individual.

There are no dos or don’ts if you feel confident in wearing it. Accessories, clothing, makeup, footwear, jewelry, it all comes together when you feel your best and confident in doing so.

There are those who believe fashion is just what’s in style, but it’s the opposite.

Fashion is always evolving but having style is timeless. Fashion becomes what the designers and the cultural context of the world want it to be.

If you think back to the ‘70s, girls wore the cropped blouses and high-rise shorts which were popular in that era.

Today it’s similar to some extent of style, except it has now evolved with a modern twist because of the influence each time period has on each generation.

The point is you should be able to wear what you like, if it makes you feel confident in expressing who you are to the world then do so.

Others’ opinions will always be there, but it is up to you to have fun with your fashion, be bold, be wild in the patterns or textures you choose.

Don’t let society’s box of style make you conform and think you aren’t killing your outfit, because you are. Rock it and own it.
