CWU cross country shows promise at Charles Bowles

The CWU cross country team is full steam ahead after running in the 46th Charles Bowles Invitational. The men’s team finished in seventh place and the women’s team finished in 13th

Senior Trevor Allen finished 20th with a time of 25:57.7, averaging 5:07.4 per mile while sophomore Shawn Clough finished 22nd with a time of 25:57.7 while averaging 5:09.1 per mile. These two led for the men’s group as well as senior Rajesh Gill finishing in 24th with a time of 25:42.8 averaging 5:09.1 per mile.

On the women’s side, they were led by junior Kay Lester. She finished in 60th with a time of 19:53.7 averaging 6:23.8 per mile. The next  wildcat to finish would be sophomore Katelyn Strate in 72nd followed by  freshman Tailer Cochran in 73rd

Strate and Cochran shared a time of 20:10.9 averaging 6:29.3 per mile. Freshman Kelli Heimplaced 82nd,  finishing with a time of 20:27.8 averaging 6:34.8 per mile. 

The next meet will be hosted by Western Washington on October 9th for the Bill Roe classic.
