Letter from the editor

Amy Morris, Managing/Online Editor

Going into my senior (and last) year on The Observer, I am excited to make this quarter one worth remembering. There is so much going on in the world right now with COVID-19, the Black Lives Matter protests, the elections and other big world events. More than anything, this paper serves as a way to share the voices of all students.

I am going on my fourth quarter of being on The Observer and have learned so much along the way. The past two quarters I have been the scene editor, and this quarter I will be the managing and online editor. As the managing editor, I am looking forward to becoming more involved with all the sections of the paper and not just the scene section.

This quarter, we’re really diving into longer and more constructed articles covering bigger issues. With everything going on in the world right now, journalism is essential to keeping the public informed. There is so much hard work and time spent on each article in the paper.

As times are changing, and the world is adapting more to the digital platform, I am excited to work on the online aspect of things as well. Having quick, easy, up to date information is essential in today’s world. I look forward to all this quarter has to bring and the new stories that will be told.
