The Observer is delivered to 26 on-campus locations and 24 off-campus locations around Ellensburg every Thursday. Our target audience reaches more than 13,000 viewers. According to Alloy Media and Marketing, 83% of college students have tried a product, service, or store after seeing it advertised. The Observer is always looking for opportunities to connect your organizations’ message, products and services to our market of college students, faculty and staff, and, we are the best print media outlet in Central Washington for doing so!

DEADLINES: Ad space is to be reserved no later than the Friday prior to the edition you’d like to run in. Approved Art is required by end of business Monday the week of the publication.

***Special summer edition has an earlier deadline–it follows the same schedule for production as the final spring issue.

  • $620.00 = Full page: 9.75″ x 16″
  • $310.00 = Half page horizontal: 9.75″ x 8″
  • $310.00 = Half page vertical: 4.79″ x 16″
  • $155.00 = Quarter page: 4.79″ x 8″
  • $77.50 = Eighth page: 4.79″ x 4″


Make good policy: In order for any advertisement to be considered for any credit or make good offer, the advertising manager must be notified within 5 working days of the publication of the ad. Liability of the Observer shall not  exceed the cost of the advertising space in which the error occurred, and credit may be given for the first incorrect insertion only. Minor spelling errors will not qualify for make good ads. Notify the advertising manager immediately of any billing errors.

Terms: Billing privileges are at the discretion of the Observer, unless credit has been established with approved credit application. The Observer will impose financing and late charges (including collection expenses) if account is delinquent more than 60 days.

Positioning: The Observer doesn’t sell or guarantee position except for a full back page ad or double truck — this is on a first come first serve basis.

Advertising Policy: The Observer reserves the right to edit or reject any advertising deemed necessary.

Summer Business: The business office runs a very limited schedule during the summer break. Please be patient should your concern arise while we are on cyclic leave, we will address them as quickly as our schedule allows.
