Senior guards Terry Dawn and Joey Roppo have been name to the GNAC All-Academic Team for the second time in as many years.

Every player that has been selected for the honor is required to maintain a 3.20 or better to qualify.

Roppo, an Information Technology and Administrative Management major, earned a 3.51 GPA and Dawn, a business major, earned a 3.37.

Roppo always has taken his grades seriously, which payed off for him in the long run.

“I’ve always took pride in my grades,” Roppo said. “My parents always had me focus on my grades. I like to get everything done so I can play basketball.”

Roppo also said that time management was one of the keys to his success in the classroom.

Dawn enjoys the recognition aspect of being selected for the All-Academic team.

“It feels good to be recognized for working hard in the classroom,” Dawn said.

A lot of fans don’t realize how much work players put off the court to stay on the court. Dawn came to that realization early in his career.

“Everyone said it was going to be hard, but I didn’t realize it was going to be this hard,” Dawn said.
